Workshop on GIA Staplers at PGH Badulla
GIA staplers are commonly used in many surgical specialities. The technology has come a long way hence changing the commonly held practices. Therefore it was time for an update on re-familiarisation and correct use of GIA staplers and energy devices in surgery. Gastroenterological surgical unit of PGH Badulla with the guidance of Dr Mohan Samarasinghe (MBBS MD MRCS) conducted a short workshop on this topic aiming operating doctors and theatre nursing staff on 19th Feb 2019 morning from 9.00am to 12pm.

Frontiers in Intestinal and Colorectal Disease -14th Annual International Congress 22nd–25th November 2016 at St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow UK is St Mark's flagship four day annual international conference, with symposia covering many of the most important topics in intestinal and colorectal disease. Dr Mohan attended the frontiers conference.
Annual Conference of the MGB-OAGB Club 2016
The Annual Consensus Conference of the MGB-OAGB International Club was held at at Gatwick - London in 2016. During this meeting, Dr Mohan Samarasinghe was acquainted with the founder of Mini gastric bypass (MGB) and One anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) DR Robert Rutledge. Dr Mohan has contributed to the sharing knowledge on the operation by the means of providing medical illustrations of the various steps of the procedure.

The grand rounds of St Marks' Academic institute and St Marks' hospital is the weekly academic update forum where a distinguished speaker will talk on an important topic followed by discussion in view of updating knowledge in the field of colorectal surgery and medicine. Dr Mohan Samarasinghe spoke at the grand rounds of St Marks Academic institute and St Marks hospital on Evolution and new trends of restoration following proctocolectomy.
