I am a Consultant Surgeon in Gastroenterology which means, I manage all the diseases and conditions occur in the gastro-intestinal tract. Namely oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, panceas, liver, gallebladder, billiary system, small bowel, large bowel / colon, rectum and anal canal.
I manage both cancers and non-cancer conditions. I use laparoscopic (keyhole) surgical techniques and enhanced recovery protocols to help ensure the best possible outcomes for my patients.
I obtained my MBBS from Faculty of Medicine - University of Colombo and completed my Local Surgical Training (MD, MRCS) at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.
My specialised surgical training in gastroenterology (MD GI Surgery) was undertaken at National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo North Teaching Hospital, IFSO Bariatric training Vienna - Austria, St Marks Hospital and St Marks Academic Institute - London,UK.
I have published a number of peer reviewed papers, book chapters and reports as well as presented at numerous national and international meetings.
I'm registered in Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) and General Medical Council (GMC) UK.
All these culminate in providing you with the best, up-to-date, state-of-the-art surgical care for gastroenterological problems.
